Coker's Cooper Wins SAC Field Goal Percentage Statistical Championship

ROCK HILL, S.C.- Junior forward Iresha Cooper of Coker women's basketball was crowned the 2016-17 South Atlantic Conference statistical champion in the category of field goal percentage, the league announced today.

Cooper played in 25 games in her first season in Hartsville, and among qualifiers she shot a league-high 55.1 percent from the floor. Cooper was in the top five in the category all season, and even the league's most efficient shooter for a period of time.

On the season, Cooper averaged a team-high 11.8 points per game, shot 70.8 from the free throw line and pulled down 6.4 rebounds per game. Cooper also logged three double-doubles on the season.

The Hemingway, S.C. native is the daughter of Nicole Cooper and is a sports management major.
