Cobras Drop Homecoming Contest to Tusculum

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's basketball dropped its South Atlantic Conference contest on Homecoming (Sat. Feb. 11) to Tusculum 60-55.

The Cobras led 14-11 after 10 minutes, before Tusculum tied the game on their first possession of the second quarter. The Cobras would score on their next three possessions, starting with a jumper from Sydney Shull. Caitland Considine made a layup to put Coker up by four, before Elizabeth Kincaid would sink a pair of free throws to stretch the home team's lead to six. Later in the quarter, Coker would get its lead up to 12, thanks to another jumper from Shull and a bucket from Trai Johnson. The Navy and Gold would take a nine-point lead to the half.

The Pioneers would respond with a resurgent second half, outscoring the home team 18-10 in the third quarter and 17-11 in the fourth to secure the road win.

Shull and Johnson each poured in 12, while Considine added eight. As a team, Coker out-rebounded Tusculum 37-24, outscored their opposition in the paint 18-14 and won the battle of the benches 27-13.

The Cobras hit the road on Wednesday (Feb. 15) to take on Wingate at 6:00 p.m. in South Atlantic Conference action.
