Cobras Drop Road Contest to No. 20 LMU

HARROGATE, TENN.- The Coker women's basketball team fell on the road to No. 20 Lincoln Memorial 83-62 on Saturday (Dec. 3).

The Cobras trailed 25-12 after one quarter and 36-21 at the half. The teams started the third quarter trading baskets, before Coker took on an 8-0 run that spanned 1:44 cut the deficit to eight. A pair of free throws and a layup from Lindsey Adams, an Iresha Cooper breakaway layup and two Terrika Foster free throws forced an LMU timeout with just over five minutes left in the frame. Coker struggled to score in the remainder of the third, despite only being outscored 21-18 in the frame.

Sydney Shull led all Coker scorers with 18 points, 13 coming in the second half. Adams totaled 14 points with nine coming in the second half, and Cooper chipped in 14 of her own with 11 in the second half.

The Navy and Gold shot a season-high 93 percent from the charity stripe, and got 26 points off the bench and 24 in the paint.

The Cobras will take the floor again next Saturday (Dec. 10) when they travel to Brevard for a South Atlantic Conference tilt. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
