BREVARD, N.C.- Coker women's basketball picked up a pivotal South Atlantic Conference victory by edging host Brevard 83-79 on Saturday (Jan. 30).

A game-high 25 points from Kendra Lambert and 23 points from Jazz Green paced Coker offensively in the win. Kiara Shoats also chipped in 10, putting three Coker starters in double figures for the day.

Coker trailed 37-34 at half after outscoring the home team 19-15 in the second quarter. The game went to the final frame tied at 60. Kendra Lambert worked her magic from beyond the arc in the fourth, draining three 3-pointers and totaling 11 points in the quarter. With 4:50 left in the game, Morgan Williams split a pair of free throws that left Coker up by three. A Williams layup followed by a Brevard bucket set the score at 75-72 with three minutes remaining. Kendra Lambert drilled a three ball on Coker's next possession to give the Cobras a six point lead. With one minute and change left on the clock, Morgan Williams came up with another clutch bucket to stretch Coker's lead to 80-75. With 12 seconds left and a three-point lead, Lambert stepped to the free throw line and sunk both shots to put it on ice.

The Cobras hit the hardwood again on Wednesday (Feb. 3) when they travel to Queens for another South Atlantic Conference battle. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
