GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Coker College women's basketball team picked up an 88-86 win over the Belmont Abbey Crusaders on day two (Nov.14) of the South Atlantic Conference/Conference Carolinas Challenge.

The first quarter saw both teams trade buckets, with neither team having more than a four-point lead. The Crusaders held a 23-22 advantage.

The Cobras struck in the second quarter, outscoring Belmont Abbey 22-14 to take a 44-37 lead into the locker rooms.

The Navy and Gold continued the solid offensive play in the third quarter, extending the lead to 15 points with six minutes left in the quarter. The Crusaders responded to cut the lead to just eight going into the last 10 minutes.

Belmont Abbey would carry their momentum into the fourth quarter to take a two-point lead with just two minutes left. A layup by Jazz Green tied things up at 86-86 with 1:11 left on the clock. After a missed jump shot by Belmont Abbey, the Cobras pulled down the rebound and had a chance for a game-winner. Again it was Green, this time making a game-winning layup to give the Cobras the 88-86 win.

Kendra Lambert finished with 23 points, 15 of which came in the first half.  She was 5-9 from behind the arc. Terrika Foster finished with 16 points. Green was big on both ends of the floor, scoring 16 points, 18 rebounds and seven assists. Sydney Shull registered 15 points and six assists, while Kiara Shoats chipped in 13 points of the bench.
