Coker Women’s Basketball Opens Play at SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge

GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Coker College women's basketball team begins the 2015-16 campaign on Friday (Nov. 13) when they travel to Limestone College for the South Atlantic Conference/Conference Carolinas Challenge. The Cobras will take on the Saints of Limestone College on Friday at 7:30 p.m., then turn around to take on Belmont Abbey College on Saturday (Nov. 14) at 5:30 p.m. Live stats and video can be found at www.cokercobras.com.

Kiara Shoats, who averaged 6.3 points per game last season, highlights the Navy and Gold returning class.

The Saints enter the season as the No. 12 ranked team in the USA Today Coaches' Poll after reaching the Final Four last just a season ago. They are led by Jasmine Kearse, who finished the 2014-15 season averaging 15.1 points per game and earned multiple preseason All-American awards this season.

Belmont Abbey posted a 20-10 record last season and enters this season as the No. 3 team in the Conference Carolinas Preseason poll. They are led by Morgan Midkiff, who averaged 13.6 points per game last season.

All games of the tournament will be played at Limestone's Timken Center.
