WINGATE, N.C. - The Coker College women's basketball team dropped a South Atlantic Conference road matchup on Wednesday (Feb. 18) night, 60-51, to the Wingate University Bulldogs.

The Cobras came out on fire in the first half and a three-pointer by Kelley Godbout would put them up seven, 16-9, with 12:54 to go in the half. The Bulldogs would use a pair of runs down the stretch to pull ahead 31-22 at the half.

The teams would trade baskets to start the second half until a layup by Priscilla Fenty with 8:35 remaining would cut the Bulldog lead to 42-39. The Bulldogs would go on a 7-0 run to go up 49-39, but Hailey Yohn would go on a 5-0 run of her own to bring the score to 49-44 with 3:49 left on the clock. However, timely free throws down the stretch would lock up the nine-point victory for the Bulldogs.

The duo of Fenty and Tanesha Stenson led the Navy and Yellow with 12 points and five rebounds each. Godbout finished with nine points and four rebounds, while Yohn chipped in seven points.

The Cobras will be back on the road Saturday (Feb. 21) as they travel to Anderson for a SAC matchup with the Trojans. Tip is set for 2 p.m.
