HICKORY, N.C. – The Coker women's basketball team pulled out a tough 64-58 South Atlantic Conference win over the Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne University on Wednesday (Feb. 4) night.

The Cobras and Bears played a competitive first half, which was deadlocked at 33-all until a late layup gave Lenoir-Rhyne a 35-33 lead heading into the break.

The second half was a back and forth battle for the first 12 minutes of action, with the Bears holding a slim 51-47 lead with 8:24 left to play. The Cobras turned the tables on the Bears putting together a 17-7 run down the stretch to take home the 64-58 victory.

Tanesha Stenson led all scorers with 27 points and six rebounds. She was 11-for-12 from the charity stripe and shot 50 percent from the field. Lyric Levester added eight points and pulled down 12 boards, while Hailey Yohn chipped in nine points, all from three-point range.

Coker will continue its two-game road trip on Saturday (Feb. 7) when they take on the Lions of Mars Hill University. The game is slated for a 2 p.m. tip-off.
