CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Coker College women's basketball team dropped its South Atlantic Conference road matchup on Wednesday (Jan. 7) to the Queens University of Charlotte Royals, 60-50.

The Cobras struggled shooting during the first half and found themselves down early. However, a late three-pointer by Hailey Yohn would cap off a 6-0 Coker run that would trim a Queens 10-point lead to just four at the half.

A three-pointer by Heidrun Kristmunsdottir with 17 minutes left in the contest would give Coker a 31-30 lead; it's first of the game. The teams would trade baskets until about the eight minute mark. Queens would proceed to go on an 8-1 run to take a six point lead with four minutes left. Clutch free throw shooting down the stretch would secure the victory for the Royals.

As a team, the Navy and Yellow pulled down 41 rebounds and caused 22 Royal turnovers leading to 30 points. Tanesha Stenson led the Cobras with 12 points and five rebounds. Priscilla Fenty pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds to go along with six points.

The Cobras will be back in action at 2 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 10) as they will take on Anderson University at home in a South Atlantic Conference doubleheader.
