HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Senior guard Tanesha Stenson put on a clinic Wednesday (Dec. 17) night, leading the Coker women's basketball team to a 79-66 non-conference win over Lees-McRae College.

Stenson finished the game with a near triple-double performance of 15 points, nine rebounds and a single-game record-tying eight assists. Classmate Hailey Yohn led all scorers with a 17-point outing, which included four deep balls. Kelley Godbout and Lyric Levester rounded out the double-figure scoring for the Cobras with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The Cobras came out the gates strong, taking an early 8-2 lead over the Bobcats. Lees-McRae would close the gap and pull within two of the Cobras, 17-15, with nine minutes to go in the half. However, Yohn would hit three consecutive threes to spark an 18-11 run by Coker and send the team into the break up 35-26.

The Bobcats and Cobras would trade buckets throughout the second half, but Coker would stomp out any comeback by shooting 65.2% from the field and forcing 15 turnovers in the half.

Coker will close out 2014 with a road test against non-conference foe Pfeiffer University on Saturday (Dec. 20). Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. in Misenheimer, N.C.
