Cobras Look to Continue Sharp Shooting Against Braves

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's basketball team will be taking on the University of North Carolina at Pembroke Braves in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday (Dec. 3) night. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at the DeLoach Center. Live stats and broadcast will available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras are coming off an impressive 83-53 victory over conference foe Queens University. They have also brought home victories in their last two meetings with UNCP.

Seniors Tanesha Stenson and Kelley Godbout lead the Navy and Yellow. Stenson, who had a near triple-double against Queens, leads the team with 16.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Those totals are good enough for fourth and sixth best in the South Atlantic Conference, respectively. Godbout comes in averaging 11.6 points to go along with 4.6 rebounds.

As a team, the Cobras' 40.4 three-point field goal percentage and 40.7 shooting percentage ranks first and fourth in the SAC standings, respectively. Stenson, Godbout and Hailey Yohn (9.8 ppg) all rank in the top seven of the conference in three-point shooting percentage.

The Braves travel to Hartsville with a 1-3 overall record after dropping their previous game to SAC member Wingate University. Senior forward Kierra Haney who is averaging 8.8 points and 9.2 rebounds a game this season leads them.

Doors of the DeLoach Center will open at 5 p.m. Wednesday's game is Hartsville High School Night. All Hartsville High Schools students, faculty and staff will receive free admission. Tickets are $15 for reserved seats, $5 dollars for adults, $3 dollars for students, and free for all Coker students, faculty and staff.
