Women’s Basketball Opens Up Conference Play with Wolves

 

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's basketball team will wrap up its three-game homestand on Wednesday (Nov. 19) with their South Atlantic Conference opener against the visiting Newberry College Wolves. Live stats and broadcast will be available at www.cokercobras.com

The Cobras swept Newberry last season, winning both games by double digits.

The Navy and Yellow are led by the senior duo of Tanesha Stenson and Kelley Godbout. Stenson, who was named to the Sodexo SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge All-Tournament team, is averaging 21 points and 5.5 rebounds per game this season. Godbout has pitched in 11.5 points and pulled down 5.5 rebounds through two games.

The Wolves are coming into Wednesday's matchup with a 2-0 record after a 76-67 win over nationally ranked Limestone. They are led by Samantha Creed and Haylee Lepaio. Creed is averaging 20 points a game so far this season, while Lepaio has averaged 15 points and 12 rebounds through the first two games.

Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. with the men's game following immediately afterwards at 8 p.m. Doors of the DeLoach Center will open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $15 for reserved seats, $5 dollars for adults, $3 dollars for students, and free for all Coker students, faculty and staff.
