Cobras Down Railsplitters, 58-55

HARROGATE, TENN. – The Coker women's basketball team held on to a 58-55 win over SAC opponent Lincoln Memorial on Saturday (Feb. 1).  With the win the Cobras improve to 10-8 on the year and 8-6 in conference action.

Lincoln Memorial (10-8, 9-5) took an early 8-6 advantage, but that was their first and only lead over the Navy and Yellow for the rest of the game.  The Cobras quickly regained control and would eventually go on to take a 33-29 lead into the locker room.

LMU battled back to start the second half and tie the game at 35, but Coker responded with a 12-0 run to take a 47-35 lead with just ten minutes remaining in the game.  The Railsplitters would make a run of their own in the final minutes, but the clock would go on to expire in favor of the Cobras.

Nine different Cobras scored during the competition to help Coker to victory.  Leading all scorers was Tanesha Stenson and Priscilla Fenty with 12 and 10 points respectively.  Jasmine Evans pitched in nine points, while dishing out a team high five assists.

Coker will return home to host Lenoir-Rhyne in a crucial SAC matchup this Wednesday (Feb. 5).  Game time is set for 6:00 p.m., followed by the men's game at 8:00.
