Coker To Host Tusculum in SAC Clash

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's basketball team will be back in action this Saturday (Jan. 25), as they host the Tusculum College Pioneers in a SAC competition at the Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium.  A live video webcast of the game will be available at www.cokercobras.com.  

The Cobras are currently tied for third place in the SAC standings with a league record of 7-4, which is only one game behind the second place position and only two games behind the first.

In their most recent competition, the Navy and Yellow ripped past the Wolves of Newberry in an 83-72 victory.  Junior forward Kelley Godbout led that competition with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Tanesha Stenson continues to lead the Coker offense with a 15.6 scoring average.  Hailey Yohn and Jessica Cohen are also key contributors on the offensive end with an average of 10.3 and 10.1 points per game, respectively. 

The Pioneers are coming off a tough 88-72 loss to Carson-Newman on Wednesday (Jan. 22).  Shynese Whitener, Nequoioh Anderson, and Blakeley Burleson lead Tusculum with 12.7, 12.3, and 11.2 points per game, respectively. 

Saturday's game is also Let's CAN Hunger day sponsored by Coker Enactus.  Free admission will be granted to anyone who donates 2 or more cans to Let's CAN Hunger.

Tip-off will be at 2:00 p.m., followed by the men's game at 4:00 p.m.  Tickets will be available at the door for $5 dollars for adults, $3 dollars for students, and free to all Coker students, faculty, and staff.
