Cobras Fall to Eagles in SAC Matchup

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's basketball team suffered a 74-56 loss at the hands of Carson-Newman on Saturday (Jan. 18) afternoon in South Atlantic Conference action.

The Cobras' offensive struggles and costly turnovers would prove to be the difference maker in the game. Coker as a team shot 29.5% on 18-of-61 shooting from the field and committed 24 turnovers that led to 18 points for the Eagles.

Leading the attack for Coker was Jessica Cohen and Kelley Godbout. Cohen netted 14 points with four rebounds and two blocks, while Godbout chipped in 11 points and five rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench.

The Cobras will return to the court next Wednesday (Jan. 22) night, as they host Newberry College in game one of a SAC doubleheader. The game is slated for a 6 p.m. tip, followed by the men's game at 8 p.m.
