Cobras to Host Tornados in South Atlantic Conference Match-up

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's basketball team will open up 2014, and the second half of its season, this Saturday (Jan. 4) against the Brevard College Tornados in the friendly confines of Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium. The SAC match-up is slated for a 2 p.m. tip and a live video webcast of the game will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras enter the heart of their SAC schedule at 5-4 overall and 3-2 in conference. Tanesha Stenson continues to lead the charge for the Cobras with her 15 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Her points are good for seventh in the SAC, while she is third in rebounds. Hailey Yohn is the team's second leading scorer at 12 points per game and she is pulling down 3.9 boards a game.

Brevard rides to Hartsville on a four-game losing streak with a 2-7 overall record and 1-4 conference mark. Madison Lenox and Katie Williams, who both average 11.4 and 10.6 points per game, lead the Tornados offensively.

Tickets for Saturday's game can be purchased at the door for $5 dollars for adults, $3 dollars for students, and free to all Coker students, faculty, and staff. It will also be Youth Basketball Day at Coker, with all youth basketball players dressed in uniform receiving free admission to the games.
