Coker Women's Basketball to Host Barton

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's basketball team will host the Bulldogs of Barton on Wednesday (Feb. 6), in the Timberlake-Lawton gymnasium.  Live video coverage can be found at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras will be looking to split the regular season series with the Bulldogs, after losing their first competition on January 8th.   However, with a home record of 6-1 on the year, Coker has proven to be a much more difficult match-up for visiting teams.

Autumn Lau continues to lead the Cobras in scoring, by averaging more than 18-points per game.  In her last competition against Erskine, Autumn posted 24-points while collecting nine rebounds against Erskine.  Her twin sister Amber Lau, is second on the team in scoring with an average of 14.7-points per game.

The Bulldogs will be led by junior guard Nyeshea Willie, who is averaging more than 19-points per game.  Senior forward Shante Neal is also a leading scorer, averaging 11.8-points per game.

Wednesday night's game is also First Responders night.  First response personnel such as fire, police, and emergency medical service workers are invited to the men's and women's basketball games and will receive free admission.  The women begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m.
