BOSTON, MA – The Coker University men's track and field team completed the BU Valentine Meet on Saturday (Feb. 15). The Cobras had another great weekend, setting multiple school records and personal best times.

Tony McElveen Jr. had a great weekend on the track as he set two new Coker school records, running a 6.84 in the 60m, and a 21.83 in the 200m. Jarrel Mumford ran well in the 200m, finishing at 22.92.

Sage Lilly and Wilhemson Jean-Pierre each set new Coker records almost simultaneously in the 400m. Lilly (49.08) had the new record until Jean-Pierre finished at 48.96 to write his name in the record books. Frederick Thompson (49.53) and Mahari Greene (51.70) were not far behind. In the 4x400 relay, the Coker team featuring Greene, Jean-Pierre, Lilly, and Thompson ran a time of 3:17.45.

"I could not be happier with how we performed this weekend.," said coach Pete Early. "Our men broke 3 school records. We are leaving with the three fastest 400 guys in school history, and Tony moved up the nationals list. It was a great experience."

The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday (Feb. 29) when they travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. for the SAC Indoor Championships. Live coverage can be found at www.cokercobras.com.
