Kiplaget, McElveen Headline Record-Breaking Day at Gamecock Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- The Coker College men's track and field team enjoyed a record-breaking day at the Gamecock Invitational on Saturday (Apr. 13).

Razzel Kiplaget provided the highlight of the day, shattering his own school javelin record with a distance of 47.31 meters. Kiplaget's previous mark was 41.03 meters, set March 25th, 2017.

Tony McElveen had a big day as well, recording the fastest wind-aided 100-meter time in Coker history at 10.55 seconds, which also meets the provisional qualifying time needed for nationals. McElveen now owns the top three wind-aided 100-meter times in school history.

The Cobras will be back in action again on Thursday (Apr. 18) when they travel to Hickory, N.C. for the South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Championships.
