Mullins Wins 800-Meter, Cobras Shine at Phoenix Invitational

ELON, N.C. -- The Coker College men's track and field team enjoyed an impressive day at the Phoenix Invitational on Saturday (Apr. 6).

Brandon Mullins won the 800-meter race, posting the sixth-fastest time in school history at 1:53.83. Mullins now owns the top nine 800-meter marks in Coker history, and 13 of the top 14.

Sage Lilly also had a terrific day, notching the second-fastest 400-meter time in school history with a mark of 49.66. Lilly was just .10 seconds behind Ryan Archibold's 2016 record.

The men's 4x400 team comprised of Mahari Greene, Will Mosley, Mahliqe Andrews, and Mullins finished second overall while securing the second-fastest 4x400 time in Coker history. The quartet finished with a mark of 3:18.64.

Alex Berry continued his climb towards Brandon Gambrell's high jump record, finishing with the third-best mark in Coker history at 1.91 meters, just .03 meters behind Gambrell.

The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Columbia for the Gamecock Invitational.
