Mullins, McElveen, and Irankunda Shine as Cobras Dazzle at Gamecock Inaugural

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Coker College men's track and field put on an impressive two-day display at the Gamecock Inaugural on Friday (Jan. 18) and Saturday (Jan. 19).

Tony McElveen started the event off for the Cobras with a third-place finish in the 60-meter dash, finishing with a time of 6.92 -- posting the second-fastest time in school history.

Next, it was Mahari Greene, Sage Lilly, and Will Mosley entering the Coker record book, as the trio combined to run three of the six fastest 400-meter times in school history. Greene led the way with a time of 51.57.

Murishi Irankunda then set the school record in the 300-meter with a time of 35.74, and freshman Mahliqe Andrews finished right behind him at 36.74.

McElveen and Lilly started day two off well for the Cobras on Saturday, with McElveen posting the third-fastest 200-meter dash in school history with a time of 22.61, and Lilly the fourth-fastest time at 22.67

Brandon Mullins capped off a terrific weekend by recording the second-fastest 800-meter time in school history with a time of 1:55.8. Mullins now owns the top nine fastest 800-meter times in Coker history.

The Cobras will be back in action next weekend when they travel to Winston-Salem again for the JDL College Dual Meet Madness.
