Coker Contends on Second Day at CSU Spring Break Invitational

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C.- The Coker College men's track and field team competed at the Charleston Southern University Spring Break Invitational on Saturday, March 17 and put together solid results. The Cobras had several top-five and top-ten finishes in their events on the day. 

Tony McElveen Jr. made his way into the finals in the men's 100-meter dash. McElveen Jr. finished second overall in the time of 10.96 seconds, fourth fastest in Coker history.

Derrian Moreau, Sage Lilly, Jarell Mumford, and McElveen Jr. ran the 4x100-meter event finishing fourth overall in the time of 43.20 seconds.

In the 4x400-meter event, Mahari Greene, Mumford, Will Mosley, and Moreau ran a 3:29.90 finishing sixth overall.

Lastly in the shot put, Kace Faulkner brought in the second-best throw at Coker with a toss of 39' 10'. Brandon Campbell threw a distance of 37' .5". Faulkner placed eighth overall while Campbell finished 10th.

The Navy and Gold will next take on the Weems Baskin Invitational in Columbia, S.C. on Friday and Saturday, March 23-24. Results from the event can be found by visiting www.cokercobras.com.
