Men's Track and Field to Compete at Charleston Southern University Spring Break Invitational

HARTSVILLE, S.C.-  The Coker College men's track and field team will depart for Charleston, S.C. on Friday, March 16 to compete in the first day of the Charleston Southern University Spring Break Invitational in their second outdoor event of the season. In their first outdoor event of the season last weekend at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational, Coker's men's track and field team brought home several new program records and an individual title.

Brandon Mullins cruised across the finish line in the men's 800-meter race in 1:56.68 to claim an individual title. Mullins' time placed him second all-time in Coker history, behind his own previous time of 1:53.58.

Kace Faulkner brought in a seventh place finish in the men's hammer throw, launching a distance of 119' 6", which blasted away the previous record held at 94' 10". Faulkner picked up two more Coker records on Saturday (March 10), becoming the new leader for the men's discus and shot put events. In the shot put, Faulkner placed fifth overall with a throw of 40' 11". In the discus, Faulkner threw for a distance of 117' 11", placing 12th overall.
