Faulkner Sets Hammer Throw Record, Mullins Takes 800-m Title at UNCW Seahawk Invitational

WILMINGTON, N.C.- The Coker College men's track and field team took on their first outdoor event of the season at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational on Friday, March 9. Brandon Mullins pulled away with an individual title and Kace Faulkner set a new Coker record in the hammer throw. 

Brandon Mullins cruised across the finish line in the men's 800-meter race in 1:56.68 to claim an individual title. Mullins' time placed him second all-time in Coker history, behind his own previous time of 1:53.58.

Kace Faulkner brought in a seventh place finish in the men's hammer throw, launching a distance of 119' 6", which blasted away the previous record held at 94' 10".

Derrian Moreau next competed in the preliminary 100-meter event, finishing 10th in 11.37 seconds, which stands for second all-time in program history. 

Moreau, Kamiam McClain, and Zakary McGriff then took on the 110-meter hurdles. McClain and Moreau finished inside the top-10, with times of 15.84 and 15.96 respectively. McGriff crossed the line in 16.19. All three times are documented as the fourth, fifth, and sixth best times in Coker history.
