HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College track and field runner Tony McElveen Jr. was named Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Men's Outdoor Track Runner of the Week, the league office announced today. 

McElveen Jr., a sophomore from Florence, S.C., notched a pair of top-three finishes at the Power & Fitness Invitational. In the 100-meter dash, he ran a program-tying time of 10.88 seconds to finish in third place. In the 200-meter dash, his time of 22.53 was good enough for a second-place showing in the event.

He is the son of Vestina and Tony McElveen. He is an exercise science major.
