Cobras Conclude Final Day of SAC Championship

HICKORY, N.C. – The Coker men's track & field team concluded the 2015 South Atlantic Conference Track & Field Championship on Saturday (Apr. 18) with 40 points for an eighth-place finish.

Leading the way was Brandon Gambrell with a fourth-place finish in the 400 meter hurdles and a sixth place finish in the 100 meter dash. Naim Fareed registered two top-10 finishes with a sixth-place finish in the 110 meter hurdles and eight-place finish in 400 meter hurdles.

Cole McDowell notched a fifth-place finish in the triple jump, while Devion Whetstone finished 15th in the javelin throw.

Dylan Bates notched a ninth-place finish in the 5,000 meter run, while Jacob Chebii finished 11th in the same event.

As a team, the men finished sixth in both the 4x100 meter and 4x400 meter relays.

The Cobras' next event will be the Carolina Cup starting on Apr. 23 in Rock Hill, S.C.
