Coker Men in Fifth After Day One of SAC Championship

HICKORY, N.C. – The Coker men's track & field team is in fifth place after the first day of competition at the 2015 South Atlantic Conference Track & Field Championship on Friday (Apr. 17). The Cobras have 18 total points. Wingate leads the pack with 60 points. 

Dylan Bates led the way for the Cobras with a third place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Bates crossed the finish line at 10:11.06.

Also earning a pair of top five finishes was Brandon Gambrell. He picked up a fourth place finish in the high jump with a height of 1.94 meters. He also placed fifth in the long jump with a distance of 6.75 meters.

Jacob Chebii rounded out the Cobra runners with a sixth place finish in the 10,000-meter run. He came in at 33:06.34.

The Cobras will wrap-up competition at the SAC Championship on Saturday (Apr. 18).
