HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College men's track & field athlete Jacob Chebii has been selected as the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Outdoor Track Runner of the Week, the league office announced today.
Chebii, a freshman from Eldoret, Kenya, captured first-place at the Wingate Invitational in the 5,000-meter event with a time of 16:25.67. He also placed second in the 1,500 meters as he crossed the line in 4:16.26.
Jacob is the son of Linah Chebii and Peter Chemitei majoring in physical education.
