Cook and Mascardo Pace Cobras at Day One of Shamrock Invitational

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Noah Cook and Nick Mascardo paced the Coker Cobra men's track & field team during the first day of competition at the Shamrock Invitational on Friday (Mar. 20) at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The Cobra duo finished first and second in the 1-mile run, finishing just a tenth of a second apart. Cook took home the victory finishing at 4:42.20, with Mascardo hot on his heels in second at 4:42.30.  Jacob Chebii also placed fifth in the 1-mile run with a time of 4:45.43 and James Gregory came in 13th at 5:01.02.

The 4x800-meter relay team picked up an eighth place finish with a time of 8:16.48 and Dylan Bates placed 14th in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:11.54.

Rounding out the Cobra competitors on Friday were Giouliano Andrade with a 21st place finish in the 400-meter dash at 55.50 seconds and Joshua Morris with a 33rd place finish in the javelin throw with a distance of 32.44 meters.

The Cobras will wrap-up competition at the Shamrock Invitational on Saturday (Mar. 21).
