Cobras Have Strong Showing During Final Day of Coastal Invite

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Coker Cobra men's track & field team completed the final day of competition at the Coastal Carolina Invitational on Saturday (Mar. 14). The Cobras had nine top 25 finishes, including three top 10 finishes.

Brandon Gambrell had the Cobras' best finish in day two. He placed fifth in high jump with a height of 1.93 meters. He also placed 19th in the long jump with a distance of 6.11 meters and he came in 25th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 58.62 seconds.

Cole McDowell picked up Coker's other top 10 finish. He placed ninth in the triple jump with a distance of 12.53 meters.

Naim Fareed placed 14th in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.89 seconds and he was 17th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.69 seconds.

Evan Alcorn came in 24th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:07.09, and Nick Mascardo placed 27th in the 3000-meter run with a time of 9:33.89.

The Cobra relay teams placed 16th in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:30 and 10th in the 4x800-meter relay with a time of 8:19.82.

The Cobras will return to Myrtle Beach for their next meet on Thursday (Mar. 19), the Shamrock Invitational at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
