Seven Cobras Place During First Day of Coastal Invitational

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Coker Cobras men's track & field team picked up seven top 15 finishes after the first day of competition at the Coastal Carolina Invitational on Friday (Mar. 13).

Derrian Moreau led the way for the Cobras with a fifth place finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.20. He also placed 21st in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.09.

Noah Cook took home eighth place honors in the 800-metere run with a time of 2:04.35.

A trio of Cobras placed in the top 15 in the 1500-meter run. Leading the way was Jacob Chebii with a seventh place finish and a time of 4:20.05. Dylan Bates came in tenth at 4:25.02 and James Gregory placed 14th with a time of 4:30.18.

Chebii and Bates also placed 23rd and 24th in the 5000-meter run with times of 16:10.02 and 16:15.11, respectively. 

Rounding out Coker's top finishers was the 4x800-meter relay team with a tenth place finish and a time of 8:19.82.

The Cobras will wrap-up competition at the Coast Invitational on Saturday (Mar. 14) at Doug Shaw Stadium in Myrtle Beach.
