Draine guided the Cobras to 15 wins in the 2021 season, including nine in South Atlantic Conference play.  

Dr. Mackenzie Draine was named Coker's head softball coach on May 20, 2020, replacing Travis McCall after six seasons. 

Draine helped Coker to 18 wins in 2020, including three in South Atlantic Conference play before the season was shortened due to COVID-19. Academically, Coker posted a 3.61 team GPA for the year and also landed 13 on the 2019-20 South Atlantic Conference Commissioner's honor Roll. 

Draine was appointed as the assistant softball coach in August of 2019. In her third season with the Cobras, Draine helped lead the team to their third straight 30-plus win season under head coach Travis McCall. 

Draine rejoined the Coker softball coaching staff in August of 2018.

Before rejoining Coker, Draine served as an assistant coach at Cleveland State University. 

Draine originally joined the Coker staff in July of 2014.

Draine came to Coker after serving as the assistant softball coach at Volunteer High School in Tennessee. She helped guide her team to conference and regional titles, as well as the school's first sub state appearance since 2006.

A native of Church Hill, Tenn., Draine was a standout softball player at King University from 2009-13. She helped lead the Tornado to a Conference Carolinas softball tournament championship (2012), a NCAA Southeast Regional appearance (2012) and a Conference Carolinas regular season championship (2013).

She graduated from King in 2013 with a bachelor of arts degree in interdisciplinary studies and a minor in elementary education. She graduated with a masters degree in college athletic administration from Coker in 2015 recieved her Doctorate Degree  in sport and athletic management from Northcentral University in October 2019.
