Williamson Named to NFCA Division II All-Southeast Region First-Team

LOUISVILLE, Ky.- Coker softball's Maria Williamson earned First-Team All-Region honors on the 2018 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II Southeast team, as announced on Wednesday, May 9. This year's squad includes 207 student-athletes from 120 schools.

The first baseman is one of 10 South Atlantic Conference players honored on the list and the lone Cobra representative.

The Laurens, S.C. native continues to rack up accolades in her junior season. She was selected onto the SAC Preseason First-Team as a first-baseman, named SAC AstroTurf Player of the Week on Feb. 20, earned First-Team All-Conference honors, and was named to the SAC All-Tournament Team.

Playing in all 51 games thus far, Williamson leads the Navy and Gold with 72 hits, 10 home runs, 52 RBI, 28 walks, and a .708 slugging percentage. She has also contributed 30 runs, seven doubles, 329 putouts, and 12 assists while having a .468 batting average and .541 on base percentage.

The 2018 NFCA Division II All-American teams will be announced on Wednesday, May 23 at the NCAA Division II National Championship Banquet in Salem, Va.
