Coker Drops Two at No. 12 Bears

HICKORY, N.C.- The Coker College softball team traveled to South Atlantic Conference foe, No. 12 Lenoir-Rhyne, on Wednesday, March 28, for a midweek doubleheader. The Cobras were held scoreless on the day, losing 8-0 (6) and 1-0.

Game One

Anna Gluhosky, Lilli Otten, and Brianna Strickland each collected a single in the first game, with Cacey Simmons hitting a double. Maria Williamson drew a walk in one of her at bats. Simmons and Courtney Boan were responsible for the stolen bases for Coker.

Game Two

Both hits for Coker in game two came from the leadoff batter Gluhosky, with one being a double. Simmons drew the lone walk for the Navy and Gold in the tight contest.

Taylor Forehand only gave up two hits in the complete game loss, striking out four Bears. Forehand struck out the side in the second inning, had a perfect game through three, and a no-hitter going into the fifth.

The Navy and Gold return to the field on Saturday, March 31, at Chowan. First pitch against the Hawks is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
