Carver Named SPC Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Month for February

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker softball's Christine Carver has been tabbed at the SPC Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Month for her performances in February. This is the Waxhaw, N.C. native's first selection of the season.

Carver's month was highlighted by pitching a perfect game with 11 strikeouts at Claflin. She has earned back-to-back SAC AstroTurf Pitcher of the Week honors during the month. The right-hander also earned Louisville Slugger/NFCA National Pitcher of the Week Honors for Feb. 26-Mar. 4. Carver had a 7-1 record in the month and one save. She pitched six complete games with three shutouts.

On the season, Carver (11-2, 1.30 ERA) has pitched 81 innings with 10 complete games. She has given up 15 earned runs, 51 hits, and 17 walks in her 14 appearances. Carver has struck out 71 batters for a 6.14 strikeout per game ratio.

Carver currently ranks second in wins and fourth in shutouts across Division II, as of Sunday (Mar. 4).

The political science major is the daughter of Lisa and Mike Carver.
