Coker's Morris and Gallman Named to All-SAC Softball Team

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College softball players Riley Morris and Ashley Gallman were named to the 2016 All-SAC team, the league office announced today. Morris was tabbed as a second-team selection in the outfield, while Gallman was named to the honorable mention team at third base.

Morris, a junior from Murrells Inlet, S.C. batted a team-high .363 for the Navy and Gold this season. She had tied for a team-high 49 hits, while knocking in 21 RBIs, scoring 18 runs, stealing nine bases, slashing eight doubles, legging out two triples and belting three home runs.

In the outfield, Morris fielded .984, recording 56 putouts, five assists and one error. This is the third-consecutive All-SAC honor for Morris.

Morris is a exercise science major and is the daughter of Christine and Tony Roberts and Stacy and Ryan Morris.

Gallman is a third baseman from Orangeburg, S.C. who batted .316 in her senior campaign. She finished the season tied with Morris with 49 hits, while leading the Cobras with 155 at-bats and 13 doubles. Her 13 doubles are tied for sixth in the SAC, while her 25 RBIs where good enough for second on the Coker roster. She also blasted three home runs, while only striking out 10 times.

She posted another stellar year in the field as well, posting a .989 fielder percentage, posting 44 put outs and 144 assists to just two errors. This is also the third-straight All-SAC accolade for Gallman.

Gallman is a business administration major and is the daughter of Mandy and Chris Gallman.
