Coker Softball to Host Saints and Golden Bears in Pair of Weekend Doubleheaders

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College softball team will be back at home on Saturday (Feb. 28) and Sunday (Mar. 1) for a pair of non-conference doubleheaders. The Cobras will take on the visiting Limestone College Saints on Saturday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. They will then turn around and face the Golden Bears of West Virginia University Institute of Technology on Sunday at noon and 2 p.m. Live stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Coker offense is led by sophomore outfielder Riley Morris. Morris leads the team in numerous offensive categories, including batting average (.480),  hits (12), RBIs (7), and home runs (3).  Ashlee Ellen and Tayler Barcomb each have six RBIs each. Tabitha Allen's 1.68 ERA is fifth best in the South Atlantic Conference.

The Saints come to Hartsville with a 6-4 overall record; while the Golden Bears open their season on Saturday (Feb. 28) against Columbia College.

All four games will take place at Saleeby-Stokes softball field. Saturday's games begin at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. with gates opening at noon. Sunday's games are slated to begin at noon and 2 p.m. with gates opening at 11 a.m.



Tickets for the game are available at the gate. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for students and all Coker faculty, staff and students get in free.
