Cobra Softball Splits Non-Conference Doubleheader Against Koalas

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Coker College softball team split their non-conference road doubleheader on Saturday (Feb. 21) against the Columbia College Koalas. The Cobras won game one 4-0, then dropped a tightly contested game two, 2-1.

In game one, Riley Morris went 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Tyresha Ellis also went 1-for-3 and plated an RBI. Jill Lewis went 3-for-4 at the plate and Ashlee Ellen finished game one 2-for-3 with a double.

Morris led the Navy and Yellow offensively once again in game two. She went 2-for-4 and plated the lone RBI. Carley Bailey also had two hits as she went 2-for-3.

Tabitha Allen (3-4) picked up the win in game one, throwing a complete game four-hit shutout. Allen would suffer the loss in game two, going six and two-thirds innings, giving up just two runs on six hits.

The Cobras will be back at home on Wednesday (Feb. 25) to take on the St. Andrews University Knights in another non-conference doubleheader. Game one is slated for 1 p.m. at Saleeby-Stokes softball field.
