Falcons Sneak Past Cobras in Extra Innings

PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Coker College softball team dropped a tightly contested extra inning matchup against the Pfeiffer Falcons 9-8 on Saturday (Feb. 7) in game four of the UNCP Invitational.

Riley Morris continued her stellar performance at the plate, going 2-for-4, scoring three runs, racking up two RBIs and picking up her second home run of the day in the bottom of the sixth inning. Megan Strickland also collected two RBIs. Jill Lewis and Katelyn Szupello had three hits apiece as well, and Hannah Price also went 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Tabitha Allen (2-1) would be hit with the loss. She went seven and two-thirds innings while giving up four earned runs.

The Cobras will be back in action on Sunday (Feb. 8) for their fifth and final game of the UNCP Invitational. They will be taking on the UNC Pembroke Braves. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m. Live stats can be followed at www.cokercobras.com.
