Coker Softball Signs Trio for 2014-15

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker College head softball coach David Hanna announced today that Brittany Long, Hannah Price and Katie Lougee have signed national letters of intent to play for the Cobras. They will join the team beginning in the 2014-2015 academic year.

"We are very excited to have Brittany, Hannah and Katie join our softball program starting next year," said Hanna. "All three are talented and add depth and pop to our lineup. Adding Katie Lougee was esepcially important because of our need at catcher. She's excellent defensively and will be a big help right away."

Long, a first baseman and pitcher, comes from Batesburg-Leesville High School in Leesville, S.C. She was a 2012 AA all-region selection, 2012 team MVP and the 2013 Hurler Pitching Award winner for the Panthers.

She is the daughter of Rick and Sherry Long.

Price, a third and first baseman, hails from St. James High School in Surfside Beach, S.C. She was a 2013 first team all-region VIII-AAA selection, 2013 all-state selection and team MVP. She compiled a .484 batting average, .806 slugging percentage, .536 on-base percentage and a .962 fielding percentage during her MVP season.

She is the daughter of Dan and Angie Price.

Lougee, a catcher, comes to Coker from South Brunswick High School in Southport, N.C. Last season for the Cougars, she racked up six RBIs, one double and two triples.

She is the daughter of Robert Paul and Shannon Lougee.
