Coker Falls to Erskine in Conference Doubleheader

DUE WEST, S.C. – Stacy Burr (Darlington, S.C.) and Sydney Weatherford (Scranton, S.C.) each drove in three runs for the Cobra softball team in their doubleheader loss to Erskine College on Thursday. Coker dropped game one of the Conference Carolinas series, 6-5, and lost game two 9-3.

Burr had four hits on the day with a home run, a triple, two runs scored and three RBIs, while Weatherford had a home run, a run scored and three RBIs. Jaclin Poole (Clover, S.C.) and Sarah Rountree (Plantation, Fla.) also collected three hits each for the Cobras in the two-game affair.

Bryant McLendon (Lake City, S.C.) was tagged with the loss in game one. McLendon (0-1) allowed three runs on three hits in two innings of work.

Logan Cox (Georgetown, S.C.) was the losing pitcher in the second game. Cox (4-2) gave up seven runs on four hits in three innings in the circle.

The Cobras return to the diamond on Saturday when they travel to North Greenville University for a Conference Carolinas twinbill. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
