Coker Men’s Cross Country Picked Eleventh in South Atlantic Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll
HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker University men’s cross country team was picked eleventh in the 2019 South Atlantic Conference preseason coaches’ poll, announced by the league today (Thursday, Aug. 22).

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker University men's cross country team was picked eleventh in the 2019 South Atlantic Conference preseason coaches' poll, announced by the league today (Thursday, Aug. 22).
Defending league champions Queens (N.C). topped the poll with 11 first-place votes and 132 points. Anderson (S.C). came in second with 115 points. Wingate was tabbed third while receiving the remaining first-place vote and 110 points. Lincoln Memorial was fourth with 98 points, and fifth place Catawba was close behind with 94 points. Lenoir-Rhyne (81 points), Tusculum (73 points), Carson-Newman (68 points), Mars Hill (54 points), Newberry (38 points), Coker (36 points) and UVa-Wise (25 points) rounded out the poll.
In Peter Early's first season as head coach a year ago, the Cobras took 11th at the South Atlantic Conference Cross Country Championships. This season, the Cobras return six men from last year including seniors Razzel Kiplaget and Dre Litsey.
The Cobras open up the 2019 season at the UNCP Cross Country Twilight event at UNC Pembroke on Sept. 6.
