Darroneshia Lott Punches Ticket to NCAA Championships with Third Place Overall Finish

WINGATE, N.C.- Coker College's senior runner Darroneshia Lott continued to pile up her accolades, as she punched her ticket to the NCAA Championships by running a time of 21:59.46 in a 6K distance at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Wingate, N.C. on Saturday (Nov. 4) morning. 

Darroneshia Lott, who has already accumulated numerous school records this season, has secured yet another milestone in her career. The Florida native has broken and now set a new Coker record in the women's 6K with her time of 21:59.46, as she finished third overall at the NCAA Southeast Regional. This beats her previous mark of 22:06.44 in the same event last season. The senior now holds on to the top-four times in the 6K, and six of the top-10 times at the 5K distance.

Chauntress Like was the next finisher for the Cobras, crossing the line in 27:02:04. Following her, Breanna Sullivan and Lisa Foster recorded times of 28:04.45 and 29:22.71.

On the other side of the trails, the Navy and Gold men ran a 10K race where Jacob Chebii led the way with a time of 34:40.34. Brandon Mullins finished next for the Cobras at the 36:00.03 mark. Additionally, Razzel Kiplaget and Luke Elliot ran times of 36:34.97 and 38:46.37.

The next event for the Cobras will be at the NCAA National Championships in Evansville, Ind. On Friday and Saturday Nov. 17-18.
