Cross Country Strides for Great Run at the South Atlantic Conference Championships

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker College men's and women's cross country teams are prepared to take on the South Atlantic Conference Championships held at Southside Park in Newton, N.C. on Saturday (Oct. 21) morning. Senior Darroneshia Lott and junior Jacob Chebii will lead the Cobras at the starting line. 

For the women's team, their last race was on Saturday Oct. 7 at the Great American Cross Country Festival. Darroneshia Lott powered her way to a fourth place finish overall in a time of 17:58.6 for the 5k. Chauntress Like finished next for the Navy and Gold in 22:30.7.

The men however, competed this past weekend (Oct. 13) at the VertCross Invitational with the team placing 14th overall. Jacob Chebbi ran the 8k in the time of 28:28.24, while teammate Luke Elliot ran a 29:42.08.

With the starting gun sounding off at 9:00 a.m. for the women's race and the men at 10 a.m. on Saturday (Oct. 21) morning, the Cobras will be off and running in the South Atlantic Conference Championships. Results from the race can be found by visiting www.cokercobras.com.
