Cobras Fall to Queens in IVA Matchup

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College men's volleyball team dropped its IVA matchup with Queens University 3-1 on Tuesday (Jan. 29) night. 

The Cobras found themselves in a 2-0 hole after dropping the opening two sets before rallying back with an impressive third set over the Royals. 

Gabriel Castro led the way for the Cobras with a team-high 14 kills, while fellow Brazilian Joao Victor Santos reached double figures in kills for the fourth consecutive game with 12 kills. Castro and Santos both recorded seven digs on the night and Santos also notched one service ace. Manuel Hernandez was the third Cobra with 10 or more kills, finishing 10 kills. Max Kuntz notched six kills and added a pair of block to increase his team-leading total blocks number to 10 on the season. Absalon Williams also chipped in with five kills and Seth Miller recorded four digs and two assists at libero. Brandon Ravelo finished the match with a career-high 42 assists and also added team-highs of nine digs and two service aces. 

The Cobras will be back in action on Friday (Feb. 1) when they travel to George Mason for a matchup starting at 7:00 PM.
