Santos Notches 11 Kills in Loss to Belmont Abbey

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College men's volleyball team dropped their first match of the season on Tuesday (Jan. 22) night after starting out with two victories, falling to Belmont Abbey three sets to none.

Joao Victor Santos led the Cobra attack with a team-high 11 kills, the Brazilian's third consecutive game with double-digit kills this season. Absalon Williams notched five kills, while the trio of Gabriel Castro, Manuel Hernandez, and Max Kuntz all had three kills each. Castro also led the team in digs with seven and ended up tied for the team-high in service aces with Brandon Ravelo with two. Ravelo also led the team in assists with 20.

The Cobras will be back in action on Tuesday (Jan. 29) when they welcome Queens University for a match set to start at 7:00 PM.
