Coker Drops Tight Match to No. 5 Barton

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Cobra men's volleyball team took on the Off The Block/Springbak Division II Coaches Poll No. 5 Barton College Bulldogs on Tuesday (Mar. 20) night in their second matchup of the season. Coker fell to the visitors 3-1 (19-25, 25-27, 25-18, 21-25).

Gabriel Castro finished with the match-high 15 kills, alongside two assists, a service ace, four digs, and two block assists in his solid performance. Joao Victor Santos gathered 14 kills, three service aces, seven digs, and a block assist. Parker Oldham tied his career-high for aces in a match with four against the Bulldogs. He also collected four digs and two block assists. Aleksa Bijelic snuck three kills past the blockers, along with 30 assists, one ace, five digs, and one solo block. Gary Baker knocked back two total blocks (one solo and one assisted) with a kill, five assists, and nine digs. Stephen Porras ended the match with eight kills, two assists, two aces, and was the lone Cobras to reach double-figure digs with 11.

The Navy and Gold will have a week off of competition before hosting the Queens University of Charlotte Royals on Tuesday, March 27. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
