Coker Battles Royals In Mid-Week Action

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Cobras host Eastern Mennonite University for their second home match this week. Coker is coming off of a 3-1 victory over Belmont Abbey on Tuesday (Mar. 6) night.

Offensively, Joao Victor Santos heads up the attack with 187 kills thus far. Stephen Porras (146) and Gabriel Castro (144) are in a tight race for second on the team. Aleksa Bijelic has been outstanding from his setter position, handing out 471 assists in 14 matches. Santos (26), Porras (22), Castro (20), and Parker Oldham (18) have a close grouping at the top of the service ace category. Gary Baker is the lone Cobra to surpass the century threshold in digs this season with 126 to his credit. Santos and Oldham have been terrors at the net for Coker. Santos has 37 total blocks (nine solo and 28 assisted), while Oldham has 29 total (10 solo and 19 assisted).

Eastern Mennonite comes into the match with a 16-7 record. Offensively, they are led by William Ragland and Tim Callahan with 239 and 232 kills, respectively. Defensively, Dan Lutz (78) and R.J. Ocampo (72) lead the blocking force.

The Navy and Gold's match against the Royals is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday (Mar. 8) night.
