Relentless Cobras Prevail Over Belmont Abbey

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker men's volleyball team squared off against Belmont Abbey on Tuesday (Mar. 6) night. After being down a set, the Cobras came back to win it 3-1 (20-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-11).

Three Cobras reached double-figure kills on the night: Gabriel Castro (16), Joao Victor Santos (14), and Stephen Porras (13). Aleksa Bijelic assisted on 43 of the 53 kills. Santos led the team in service aces with five, while Porras and Castro finished with two and one, respectively. Coker spread the wealth with all players ranging from five to seven digs. Parker Oldham had a day at the net with eight total blocks (three solo and five assisted). Castro tacked on four block assists, as Santos added a solo and two block assists. Gary Baker chipped in with two block assists.

The team hit a fiery .375 for the match, with a high of .433 in the third set. All Cobras had at least two kills to their credit as well.

The Navy and Gold remain home for another match on Thursday (Mar. 8) against the Eastern Mennonite University Royals.
