Cobras Top the Saints

GAFFNEY, S.C.- The Coker men's volleyball team ventured to the Upstate to battle the Limestone Saints on Friday (Feb. 16) night. The Cobras swept the Saints in three sets (25-21, 25-22, 26-24).

Joao Victor Santos went on an offensive tear with 18 kills on .353 hitting percentage. He also served up two aces, with seven digs, and five block assists. Gabriel Castro followed Santos in kills with nine, while adding a team-high four service aces, and two block assists. Gary Baker led the team in digs with 10, tacking on two block assists. Stephen Porras had a solid night as well with seven kills and three aces. Parker Oldham contributed on the defensive end with seven digs, one solo block, and a block assist. Aleksa Bijelic added two kills, 31 assists, eight digs, and two total blocks.

Collectively, the Navy and Gold finished with 38 kills, 37 assists, 10 service aces, 37 digs, and 14 total blocks.

The Cobras will square off against St. Andrews on Tuesday (Feb. 20) in Laurinburg, N.C. First serve versus the Knights is at 7:00 p.m.
